Registration Open: DARIAH-EU Annual Event

DARIAH-EU Annual Event Registration We are delighted to announce that registration is now open for the DARIAH EU-Annual Event, which will take place at the Ghent University Convention Centre, ‘Het Pand’ on 10-13 October 2016, organised by DARIAH-BE.

The 2016 event is organised in two parts: 1) the DARIAH-EU Annual Meeting and 2) the Digital Arts and Humanities Lab, both of which will be kicked-off with an inspirational keynote lecture. Additionally, there will be opportunities for colleagues to work together on their DARIAH activities face-to-face, such as Working Group meetings. A social dinner (self-paid) has been organised on Tuesday 11 October at 19:30 at Het Pakhuis.

1)  DARIAH-EU Annual Meeting: This part of the event is the Annual DARIAH-EU member’s meeting, which builds on previous General Virtual Competency Centre meetings. A key part of the event will be the Working Group Marketplace. This is where existing and new DARIAH-EU Working Groups will introduce their working group and provide an update on their activities. The marketplace set-up will also help facilitate interaction between the  working groups. Additionally there will be updates from the DARIAH-EU team and an interactive workshop enabling colleagues to provide input on future directions for DARIAH.

2) Digital Arts and Humanities Lab: is intended to be an interactive session bringing together researchers, technologists, data scientists and cultural heritage professionals, to demonstrate and engage with data, tools and services around the theme of digital arts and humanities. This part of the event will focus on bringing the ‘arts’ to DARIAH. Contributions from digital arts (music, art, cinema etc.) and digital culture will be especially welcomed. Additionally there will be presentations from projects who have been awarded funding as part of the DARIAH Theme programme.
